Fierce Widow

The most perfect thing I’ve ever seen are the souls of human beings. Under the flesh of strangers can pulse the most intricate and complicated masterpiece’s called lives’. All individual, all faultless works of art. I won’t look at the clothes you wear, the food you eat, the lifestyle you live, the people you surround yourself with, the front you show the world. How boring that would be, how fake that would be. Everyone wears a mask, my wish is that you see what I see behind yours.

“Butterflies can’t see their wings. They can’t see how beautiful they are, people can be like that to.”

To the friends I’ve met along the way and the ones I haven’t met. You are the breath of fresh perspective that speaks wind beneath broken wings. The warm and gentle touch in a cold and hard world. The wounded soldier that continues to battle through pain and fear of the future.

You don’t believe me but it’s true.

A circle made up of broken souls and beaten bodies who at times chase abuse and distractions trying to make the pain under surface bearable. Don’t forget who you were before you began to drown, but more importantly seek who you are now while you’re beneath the waves.

Once you wore a smile that showed your passion and drive for life. Uncertainty of the future was a thrill not an anxiety. A free and fearless spirit, knocked down by unfair and cruel life circumstances.

Not everything happens for a reason and sometimes life does give us more than we think we can handle! Throwing lessons that we think will break us but without realising we continue to fight until they make us.

When I see you, I can see all the ways that a soul can bruise. I see the exhaustion and the sadness. You think you’ve given up, you think you don’t have it in you, it’s overwhelming. You’re so wrong. The truth is you never gave up, you just didn’t know how to keep going as the person you once were. How could you when so much changed around you? But you kept going, without realising. Just as a person you’ve never been before. Your light, courage and strength still shine within, just differently than before. Even if you can’t see them at times, I can.

Where you see your fear, I see someone who is brave!

When you are uncertain, I see someone full of courage!

And the sight of your wounds, shows me how hard you fight!

The depth of your pain, shows me your heart!

You feel tired and weak but only because you’re so strong! Did you ever meet a strong person who didn’t know pain?

You have lived and died and continue to live because you are tougher than you see yourself. Some people would crumble, but you continuously get up and keep going. You’re still there, still here, still breathing. Do you see how amazing that is, how much resilience and determination that takes? I see it. Remind yourself that you are a perfect masterpiece, because you are you.
